I have been away from this site for a little bit now due to Harrison commitments and generally being too busy. This weekend just gone I was at a Stag party in Portlaoise and as usual we went nuts and had to use the power of collected memories to piece the day and night together later on. The wedding is in a few weeks so I am looking forward to that.
The story about the Dublin guy who doesn’t love the GAA has turned into a novella. I have 18 of 26 sections written now (but I will be going back to add to them all before the editing section begins) and hope to finish the first draft by the end of the month.
Aisling and I have also decided that it is about time we got back looking at our own wedding plans. Tonight I think we will be going back over the invitation list and I think I am supposed to contact the photographer today for an update. I suppose it has to get a little messy and stressful at some stage but it has been fairly easy so far- apart from the cost! Aisling has picked a dress so that is one of the big jobs done.
I have finished ‘Independence Day’ by Richard Ford, I enjoyed it a lot but did not love it. I will read the last novel in the trilogy in the next year or so. This morning I started ‘The Wild Palms’ by William Faulkner- I have yet to be let down by him and this one has started of well.
